Hiking & nature

Walks in the Niederhorn area

You can enjoy your free time on the Niederhorn in a wide variety of different ways. The funicular and cable car will bring you to the summit.

Alternatively, you can explore on foot using the more than 120 km of hiking and Alpine trails. You can therefore wander over meadows and through forests while breathing in the mountain air and enjoying the views over Lake Thun and peaks that are topped with snow all year round. Nature fans will be in their element thanks to the high moorland of national significance, the Karst limestone areas, and the protected flora, including crocuses, Alpine roses and edelweiss. What’s more, the area is also home to a variety of wild animals. And if you fancy getting up some speed, why not hire a scooter bike at the intermediate station and experience nature along the “Direttissima” or “Flanierama” routes (of 6 km and 12 km respectively)?
