A network of footpaths and cycle routes connect the various districts of the town, allowing visitors to enjoy the breathtaking views and discover the lush gardens, such as the botanical garden at Villa Taranto. From Verbania you can also take a boat trip to the Borromean Islands with the famous parks and palaces.
Art-lovers, for their part, can visit the Museo del Paesaggio (the Landscape Museum), which houses a collection of artworks from the 19th and 20th centuries as well as a variety of special exhibitions.
