Head to La Chaux-de-Fonds for an extraordinary music season

The Grande Série presents, among others, the Orchestre National de Mulhouse conducted by Christoph Koncz with the up-and-coming horn player Yun Zeng (soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic), the acclaimed pianist Alexandre Kantorow, who will perform an impressive trilogy of solo recitals, and the charismatic Nemanja Radulović with the Ensemble Double Sens. The audience can also look forward to Chopin Prize winner Bruce Liu and a festive Offenbach gala with Marc Minkowski, Marina Viotti, and Les Musiciens du Louvre.

Chamber music will also be well represented, with guests including Isabelle Faust & Alexander Melnikov, the Jerusalem Quartet with Elisabeth Leonskaja, and the Goerner – Feng – Moreau Trio. Special highlights include Bach's Christmas Oratorio with the La Cetra Baroque Orchestra & Choir Basel under Andrea Marcon, exciting young talents in the RTS “Nouveaux Talents” series, cross-genre projects in the “Concerts Collaborations,” as well as organ concerts and lectures.

Since its foundation, the Société de Musique has brought important artistic personalities to La Chaux-de-Fonds: from Saint-Saëns and Casals to Argerich, Sokolov, Mutter, and Capuçon. With its unique Salle de musique, one of the best concert halls in Europe in terms of acoustics, and a loyal audience, it is now an established fixture in Swiss cultural life.

Travel comfortably by train to La Chaux-de-Fonds. The Salle de musique (Avenue Léopold-Robert 27-29) is only a 10-minute walk from the train station. Alternatively, bus line 301 will take you directly from the train station to the Théâtre stop (for the return journey: Espacité) – journey time approx. 3 minutes.
