Playful hiking fun for the whole family

The new ball trail leads from Lauchernalp through the cool Baan forest down to Wiler. Ten original, locally produced marble runs await you along the way. By the way, there are various carved tree figures to discover in the Baan forest.

The wooden balls for the ball runs are available at several distribution points for 5 francs each.

By public transport, you can reach Lauchernalp from Bern in just 110 minutes. From Bern or Brig, the RegioExpress takes you directly to Goppenstein. From there the post bus takes you to the valley station in Wiler.

Route description

The hiking trail starts at the mountain station of the Lauchernalp cable car. From the mountain station, the trail winds through the cool Baanwald forest down to the village of Wiler to the Gsteinät recreation centre. The stations are well marked and easy to find.

How to get there

Travel comfortably by train to Goppenstein. From Goppenstein station the post bus (direction Blatten/Fafleralp) takes you to «Wiler, valley station», in about 10 minutes. Now take the cable car to Lauchernalp. Return journey by post bus from the stop «Wiler, Gschteinät».
