Family experiences at Betelberg Lenk
Many different attractions are waiting to be discovered in the Alpine Experience at Betelberg.
The adventure begins already with the unique experience gondola ride: in 12 themed and lovingly decorated gondola cable cars, Mona the cow, Flöckli the goat and Moritz the marmot tell of their daily lives and guarantee plenty of entertainment. On the marmot trail or the lynx trail, children will find a series of fun play stations and can learn about these animals through play. A highlight on the marmot trail is the interactive marmot building. This is located right next to the new reservoir, which is an inviting recreational area to linger and enjoy. There is also a variety of additional activities on offer, such as playgrounds, a downhill scooter trail and other themed trails.
Travel by train to Lenk. The gondola will then take you up to Betelberg.

Marmot/Lynx Trail
Marmot Trail
Hiking while having fun. The Marmot Trail is an adventurous and playful trail. The path leads from the gondola's mountain station over 3 km to the intermediate station Stoss. Two barbecue areas are equipped with a grill and wood. A new attraction on the trail is the walkable marmot burrow. Little nature explorers can explore the sleeping quarters of the cave dwellers in the interactive burrow. Themes such as burrow construction, duration of hibernation, diet, and the fat reserves of marmots are presented in a playful manner. The play station is located at Betelberg, in close proximity to the reservoir.
The optimal mountain railway ticket is the 3-section ticket (1st section: valley station Lenk - intermediate station Stoss / 2nd section: intermediate station Stoss - mountain station Betelberg / 3rd section: intermediate station Stoss - valley station Lenk). The path is also accessible with all-terrain strollers (the road is not paved).
Lynx Trail
Observe, experience, play. On the 4 km long Lynx Trail, there is a lot of interesting information about the behavior and lifestyle of lynxes. One barbecue area along the way is equipped with a grill and wood. At the beginning of the trail, the AlpKlangspiel invites you to make music. The suitable mountain railway ticket is the one-way trip to Leiterli. The path ends at the Wallegg-Stube. From there, you can hike directly to the valley station (time: about 30 minutes). The hike is suitable for hiking-enthusiastic children aged 7 and up.
Leiterli storage lake
Only about a 10-minute walk from the Leiterli mountain station is the Leiterli storage lake. The new picnic areas with barbecue invite parents to linger while the children discover the world of the marmots in the Marmot burrow or let off steam in the paddling pool in warm weather.
Alpine circular trail with Alpine piano
At the beginning of the path is the original Alpine Piano. A crazy idea? Definitely! The Leiterli ski lift, located right next to the Betelberg gondola mountain station, has been transformed into an interactive Alpine piano. Simply hit the keys to produce different tunes. Where in winter the snow sports enthusiasts are lifted by the ski lift, great music can be made in summer. The Alpine circular trail is suitable for all-terrain strollers.
Alpine circular trail Leiterli
Alpine flower trail
The original Alpine Flower Trail Betelberg is located at 2000 m above sea level and starts at the Leiterli mountain station. A biodiversity that has become rare. Over 100 signs help identify the alpine flowers. The area around Leiterli is one of the greenest and most colorful regions of the Swiss Alps. At this altitude, alpine flowers thrive thanks to intense sunlight, like nowhere else. There are over 300 different species of flowers to discover.
Scooter bike to the valley station
The 9-km downhill scooter trail takes you along gravelled sections and asphalted roads and leads you back to the village via Pöschenried. The start of the downhill scooter trail is at the Leiterli mountain station, and ends at the valley station of the Betelberg gondola lift. The scooter bikes are ultra-modern with disc brakes and suspension. All outdoor fans aged 12 and over (minimum height 125cm) accompanied by an adult can ride a scooter on the Betelberg (the minimum age for riding a scooter alone is 16).
Experience gondola ride with Mona, Flöckli, and Moritz
Twelve thematically decorated gondolas guarantee a ride full of entertainment. The cow Mona, the goat Flöckli, and the marmot Moritz share amusing stories about daily life on the alp. Learn many interesting, amusing, and new things about the three animals during your ride up to Leiterli.
For French-speaking guests, all texts of the themed gondolas are translated into French. Wait times may occur. The experience gondola ride with Mona, Flöckli, and Moritz is also perfect as a program for bad weather.
Alpine play area Leiterli
Play on an Alpine telephone instead of an iPhone. The Alpine play area near the Leiterli mountain station offers all the fun that young visitors could hope for, including little wooden chalets, climbing frames, mesh swings, jumping mats and a slide. What’s more, little ones can communicate from one wooden chalet to the next by Alpine telephone. Meanwhile, their parents can relax as they watch them from the sun terrace of the mountain restaurant.
