Public excursion in the Schrattenfluh near Sörenberg
Embark on this adventure on the Schrattenfluh! You will discover the devil's tracks – deep furrows in the limestone – and descend into one of the countless caves with a headlamp. Once inside the mysterious cave world, you will discover unique stalactite formations. The Entlebuch excursion world enchants its guests with a unique variety of natural jewels.
From Bern and Lucerne you can travel directly by public transport to Schüpfheim and then by bus to Sörenberg.
Karst and caves excursion
On this guided excursion you will discover the kilometer-long karst fields of the Schrattenfluh, follow the deep gorges, discover mysterious sinkholes and fascinating karst caves.
- Circular walk over sharp-edged limestone rocks; hiking boots and steady footing required
- Meeting point: 09.15 hours Sörenberg Tourist Office
- Duration: approx. 6 hours, including approx. 3.5 hours’ walking (500 m ascent)
- End of the excursion (Wagliseichnubel): at approx. 15.00 hours
- Equipment: hiking boots, rainwear, warm clothing for the cave visit, packed lunch and drinks
- Tour led by Pius Schnider, Armin Thalmann or Adrian Banz, karst limestone and cave guides
