Sigriswil panoramic bridge
Head to lofty heights
On one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in the world, you will experience breathtaking moments with a touch of adrenaline. At a height of 182 m, the 340-metre-long suspension bridge spans the Gummischlucht gorge and connects the two villages of Aeschlen and Sigriswil. Both mountain villages are beautifully situated on the sunny slopes of the right bank of Lake Thun. Walk along past the treetops and enjoy the magnificent view of the famous Bernese Oberland mountain giants Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as Lake Thun itself.
You can buy food to take with you in Sigriswil right by the suspension bridge, for example, where there is a great farm shop with fresh regional produce. At the bridge you will also find an information point where you can find out about sights worth seeing in the region.
Suggested hikes
Combine your visit to the panorama bridge with a beautiful panoramic hike along the right bank of Lake Thun. From the historic town of Thun with its medieval castle, the hike leads past idyllic places such as Hünibach and Aeschlen.
Or hike a circuit through the wild natural landscape of the Gummischlucht gorge and admire the interesting rock formation of the Nagelfluh.
Leissigen panoramic bridge
Although the Leissigen panoramic bridge is a simple and plain suspension bridge, it is one of the most beautiful of its kind. Tautly stretched and consummately embedded in nature, the bridge leads you over the rushing Spissibach at a height of 60 m.
Crossing the 140 m suspension bridge above the picturesque village of Leissigen is worth it for the fascinating panoramic view of the deep blue Lake Thun and the surrounding landscape alone.
After the bridge, you reach the idyllic Meielisalp, where cosy refreshment stops, a children’s playground and a mini-golf course await you.
Suggested hikes
The suspension bridge experience combines perfectly with a hike from Aeschiried or from Krattigen. The hiking time for both of these is 1 hour and 30 minutes (5 km).
