Winter and snow shoe hiking in the Stockhorn area

You can get away from the daily grind and enjoy the breathtaking peace and tranquillity of the wintry landscape when you hike through the beautiful Stockhorn area – with or without snow shoes. The romantic trails lead around iced-over Lake Hinterstocken or to the idyllic "Oberbärgli" mountain huts on the Lasenberg. It's an unforgettable nature experience that will make your hectic daily routine a distant memory.
The snowshoeing trails and itineraries all start at the intermediate station of Chrindi, easily accessible by cable car from Erlenbach i.S. However you should in any case make a detour through the top station of the Stockhorn, from where you can enjoy an incomparable view of Lake Thun and the Bernese Oberland. The panoramic restaurant at the top also offers Sunday brunches and full moon meals all year round.
The RegioExpress Bern–Spiez–Zweisimmen takes you from Bern to Erlenbach i. S. in less than an hour and without changing trains. The cable car is about a 15-minute walk from the station.

There are four signposted snow shoe trails of varying levels of difficulty on the Stockhorn.
Circular tour „Around the Cheibehorn“
Route: Chrindi–Hinterstockenalp–Rotblatti–Cheibenhorn–Vorderstockenalp–Speetbärgli–Oberstockenalp–Hinterstockenalp–Chrindi
