Solothurn: Urban nature scavenger hunt
Discover the natural side of the city in a unique way with this educational smartphone scavenger hunt.
Upon arrival at the Natural history museum Solothurn or at Solothurn Tourism, you will receive a QR code that can be scanned using the Actionbound app. You will then set off through Solothurn’s old town and solve riddles about the city’s flora and fauna.
Travel comfortably to Solothurn by train. From Solothurn station, the old town is easily reachable on foot. The Natural history museum Solothurn is about a 7-minute walk away.

Buy the scavenger hunt
The QR code required to start is available at the reception of the Natural History Museum or at Solothurn Tourism (Hauptgasse 69). To scan it, you’ll need the Actionbound app, which you can download for free from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
Tip: Download the app at home on your smartphone or tablet so you can start right away upon arrival.
Note: An internet connection is only required at the beginning and at the end.

The city tour is generally suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. Short alternative routes are provided for stairs.

Food and drink
Enjoy Italian specialties at Cantinetta Bindella, and daily menus right by the Aare at the Aarebar. In the city, you’ll also find a wide selection of different dishes at the Kaffeehalle or at the Confiserie Hofer.
You can also enjoy your own picnic in the park of the Art Museum or on the Chantierwiese, which has an adjacent playground.
