FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Adelboden

On the weekend from 7 to 8 January 2023, Adelboden will once again be transformed into a hive of activity when the world’s best ski racers compete against one another on the Chuenisbärgli.

Up close to the action when the elite of the ski-racing world show off their skills. The Chuenisbärgli is one of the classic courses in the Ski World Cup. A place where dramas are written and legends born. It is the home of the toughest giant slalom piste. That is its reputation. The racing weekend at the “Chuenis” kicks off on Friday with the popular “Boxenstrasse”, where the ski stars sign autographs. This is followed by the big ski festival and the allocation of start numbers in the World Cup Village. On Saturday 7 January 2023, the classic giant slalom event is bound to deliver major sporting theatre when the professional skiers conquer the trickiest finishing slope on the entire tour. Sunday 8 January 2023 also promises pure adrenaline as the slalom racers battle it out for fractional time advantages. How to get there

Travelling to and from the event by public transport

BLS is increasing the number of seats available and running additional trains to and from Frutigen. From Frutigen station, additional buses will run directly to the event site. (Approx. 40 minutes’ travelling time.)

Outward

Saturday/Sunday from Frutigen Railway Station to Adelboden between 07.00 and 13.00 hours.

Return

Saturday/Sunday to Frutigen Railway Station from Adelboden World Cup Village between 14.30 and 23.00 hours. (Sundays until 20.00 hours only)
On Saturdays additional buses from the Sillerenbahn car park between 20.00 and 22.00 hours. (Last train toward Spiez from Frutigen at 23.00 hours; last train towards Brig from Frutigen at 00.25 hours)

The Frutigen-Adelboden scheduled buses will run according to the standard timetable and are not included in the entry ticket price.If you want to stay even longer at the World Cup party, you can travel home on the MOONLINER M45. This night bus service departs from the “Adelboden, Post” stop at 01.00 and 03.10 hours. You will need to purchase a special ticket for journeys on the MOONLINER buses (rail tickets are not valid).
