RABe 535 – "Lötschberger"
Modernization brings a fresh look
The large windows and generous legroom ensure the best possible travel experience. The trains reach speeds of up to 160 km/h, are air-conditioned and have barrier-free low-floor access at every door. Up to four trains with 142 seats each can be coupled together (maximum 568 seats). Since January 2024, the "Lötschberger" trains have been undergoing a modernization programme in the Bönigen workshop, where various technical and customer-relevant measures are being implemented.
