Modern All-Purpose Train for Regional and Commuter Rail Service

Comfortable and Versatile Travel

The first RegioExpress-type MIKAs ("modern, innovative, compact all-purpose train") entered service in 2021. The 105-meter-long, single-deck train offers comfortable seats, spacious multifunctional areas, large panoramic windows, improved cell phone reception, and power outlets at virtually every seat. A bistro area with snack and coffee vending machines rounds out the RegioExpress model’s amenities.

A specially adapted version is available for commuter rail service. It is designed with a greater emphasis on standing room and, thanks to additional entrances and doors, allows for quick passenger turnover.
