On the route of the Napf Marathon to the Napf
Trubschachen–Napf–Mettlenalp (19.3 km / 6 hours 50 minutes)
This walk starts in Trubschachen and follows the original route of the famous Napf Marathon. Before beginning the ascent, it’s well worth visiting the Kambly Experience at Trubschachen, where you can purchase tasty snacks for your walk or top up your energy levels by sampling some of the many biscuit varieties made there. The route leads via Risisegg to the Rossgrat ridge, continuing along it high above the Fankhusgrabe valley to the Napf and down to the Mettlenalp.

Getting there and back
Take the train to Trubschachen; for the return, take bus no. 284 (BLS hiking bus) from the “Mettlenalp (Napf)” stop
The normal public transport fares apply to the BLS Hiking Bus.

- The walk can also be done as two-day tour with a night spent at the Balm mountain lodge (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday).
- Thanks to the bus stops between Trubschachen and Mettlenalp, the route can be shortened.
