Hiking & nature
Over hill and dale to the Fritzeflue
Dürrenroth–Oberwald–Fritzeflue–Eriswil (13 km, 4 hours)
The starting point of this hike is the interesting village centre of Dürrenroth. The church is well worth a visit – the St. Lawrence bell dates back to 1392 and is the oldest church bell in Switzerland. The trail leads through the woods up to Oberwald. A short steep climb up a rough path leads to the forested mountain ridge of the Hornbachegg. Here you can enjoy the 360° panorama over the Emmental hill country to the Jura mountains and even as far as the Black Forest. Continue to walk through the woods and you will reach the Fritzeflue. Then follow the sunken path ('hollow-way") down to Eriswil.
