The Museum of Transport is more than just a museum: Take control of a train in the railway simulator, explore Switzerland on the walkable LIVEMAP or try out a variety of interactive attractions. The planetarium, film theatre and Swiss Chocolate Adventure complement the range of attractions and offer additional experiences for visitors of all ages.
You can benefit from the discount with any ticket, for example an ordinary public transport ticket, Day Pass, supersaver ticket, as well as a Regional Travelcard, Half Fare Travelcard or GA Travelcard.

Day pass
The day pass includes admission to the museum, unlimited visits to the Swiss Chocolate Adventure, as well as screenings and shows in the daily programme of the Film Theatre and Planetarium.
*Please note: The number of discounted tickets for public transport is limited each month. Once 50% of the tickets have been used up, the discount is reduced to 30%. If 30% of the tickets have been used up, the price reduction is cancelled. The discounted public transport tickets are only available when booking online.

The Swiss Chocolate Adventure is a unique attraction in Switzerland that takes visitors on a journey of around 20 minutes, offering fascinating insights into the discovery, origins, production and transport of chocolate. In this interactive chocolate museum, you can experience the fascination of this sweet delicacy with all your senses – sight, hearing and taste.

One of the longest model railways in Switzerland
An elevated walkway now provides unique views of the intricate landscape. Like an open Swiss Army knife, the model unfolds along the mountain ridge and incorporates the Gotthard Base Tunnel, inaugurated in 2016. The extensive transformation of the installation in Bleienbach began 55 weeks ago. Originally measuring 6 x 14 meters, the Gotthard railway model now stretches to 31.5 meters in length and 3.5 meters in width, making it one of the longest model railway installations in Switzerland. The 2016 Gotthard Base Tunnel is also integrated. Visitors can take a behind-the-scenes look at this model world: digital controls and shadow stations at the back offer fascinating insights.
A masterpiece of voluntary work
Under the motto “Connecting Old with New,” the Gotthard Model Railway Group, led by Emil Galliker, further developed the Gotthard railway model with great attention to detail. The team consists of 20 dedicated members from the Luzern Railway and Model Railway Enthusiasts as well as the Rothenburg Railway Model Enthusiasts. Together, they invested over 12,000 volunteer hours to bring this masterpiece to life.

At the Swiss Museum of Transport Film Theatre, you can enjoy films on the largest permanently installed screen in Switzerland. In addition to unique documentaries and feature films, the cinema also offers live broadcasts of operas, ballets and theatre performances from around the world.
