Lötschberg mountain railway line

The starting point for this spectacular train tour is Bern. The RegioExpress Bern - Spiez - Kandersteg - Brig - Domodossola takes you along the historic mountain line to Brig. The 60 km long line is considered one of the most important and daring structures in Swiss railway history and impresses with its engineering works, such as the imposing Kander Viaduct, the hairpin bends around the Felsenburg Castle or the unconventional Bietsch Valley Bridge near Raron. On your journey you will pass through unique natural and mountain landscapes and enjoy impressive views of the Rhone valley.

After reaching Brig, your onward journey continues on the InterRegio train, which wends its way through the Rhone Valley to Montreux. 

GoldenPass Panoramic

Montreux, the town nestled between the steep hills on the shores of Lake Geneva, exudes a Mediterranean charm and is known for its mild microclimate. It's a good thing that around three hours have been set aside for an extensive lunch break. The onward journey on the GoldenPass Panoramic begins with a fantastic view over glistening Lake Geneva. The leisurely ride takes you past cows in lush green meadows and traditional wooden chalets. The high peaks of the Alps are always in the background. The journey continues past Château-d'Oex, Gstaad and Schönried to Zweisimmen. The RegioExpress takes you back to Bern.

You can also board the GoldenPass Express between Montreux and Interlaken. This unique train combines technology, comfort and gastronomy with three travel classes.
