Cross-country experience in the Nature Park
The Diemtigtal cross-country trail takes you through snowy woods, along icy mountain streams and across wintry meadows. The 22 km long trail (for classic cross-country skiing and cross-country skate skiing) between Schwenden (Grimmialp) and Zwischenflüh offers varied loops.
The ideal starting point is located near the old schoolhouse, close to the Postbus stop «Schwenden i.D., Fildrichbrücke». There are also changing rooms, toilets, and the opportunity to purchase drinks.
Cross-country equipment can be rented at local sports shops. Those who wish to learn the basics of close-to-nature winter sports from scratch can take their own personal cross-country skiing course.
The starting point is easily accessible by train and post bus.
Cross-country skiing trail
Our well-developed network of cross-country skiing trails is nestled between Zwischenflüh and Schwenden. Depending on the weather, up to 22 km of classic and skating trails are prepared. The trails are very varied:
Wiriehorn Trail:
Slight slope and flat valley floor
Tiermatti Trail:
After a solid ascent from Anger, mostly loops and straight passages on sunny and easy terrain
Grimmimutz Trail:
Our most challenging terrain in terms of physical condition and technique required, but very scenic leading past the Blauseeli and the Würziwald
Equipment hire
You can hire the equipment for your cross-country ski excursion in the two sports stores of Stucki Sport (Wiriehornbahnen valley station, classic only) and Erb Sport (Grimmialpbergbahnen valley station).

How to get there
Travel relaxed by train to Oey-Diemtigen. From there, the Postbus will carry you to the «Schwenden i.D., Fildrichbrücke» stop.
