Allmenalp “via ferrata” route

Not suitable for those with a fear of heights

Climb along one of the most spectacular via ferrata routes in Switzerland: the via ferrata trail on the Allmenalp. As soon as you join the trail, you climb straight up the 350-metre-high wall of the Allmifluh cliff. This is the key stage of the entire via ferrata, with the most spectacular section being the route down and across the overhanging cliff face.

Availability Today (Friday) open

The via ferrata is open every day from the start of June to around the middle of October.

With the four thundering waterfalls of the Allmibach mountain stream, its two Nepalese bridges (each made of just three cables) and the zip-wire that carries you high above the water, the Allmenalp via ferrata is an unforgettable experience.

After completing the route, you can top up your energies in the cosy “Allmen-Beizli” restaurant with an afternoon snack platter or other light meal as you enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the mountain backdrop.

You can then take the Allmenalp cable car for the easy trip back to Kandersteg.
