The “Sentier du Temps” - Chaumont
A hiking trail that transports you from the time of the “Big Bang” to the appearance of man
On this walk, you’ll find it impossible to resist the unbeatable views over Lake Neuchâtel, Lake Murten and Lake Biel, the Swiss plateau and the distant Alps. Throughout the hike from the top of the Chaumont funicular to Neuchâtel, a total of 17 sculptures take you on a journey through time, retracing the history of the world from the “Big Bang” to the appearance of man.

This hike of 4.5 km takes you from the top of the Chaumont funicular to Neuchâtel. All along the trail, 17 wood statues retrace the history of the earth from the “Big Bang” to the appearance of man.

The Funi-Nature guide book, available to buy from the Neuchâtel tourist offices, provides walkers with additional information relating to evolution, prehistory, nature, the forest, geology, traditional crafts, and the landscape.
