How it works

With the Tunnel Pass, you can conveniently pay for your BLS Car Transport Service journeys using prepaid credit. You receive an additional bonus with every top-up.

Your top-up options

  • Top up CHF 250.00 → CHF 50.00 bonus → CHF 300.00 total credit
  • Top up CHF 750.00 → CHF 450.00 bonus → CHF 1200.00 total credit

Good to know

  • Your topped-up credit is valid for 10 years.
  • The bonus is valid for 3 years.
  • The bonus is only used once your topped-up credit has been used up.
  • If you use your total credit within three years, you benefit from the full bonus.
  • Even if you travel less frequently, you will not lose any of the credit you have topped up yourself. It remains valid for 10 years. If the bonus expires after three years, you can continue using your remaining topped-up credit. You simply pay the regular fare from your credit without benefiting from the bonus.

The Tunnel Pass pays off for most customers from around 4 journeys per year. If you travel more frequently, you can benefit from an even greater bonus by choosing the higher top-up amount.

Example

If you travel on the Brig–Iselle route four times a year, your journeys over three years will have a total value of CHF 324.00. This generally allows you to use the full CHF 50.00 bonus.

Collect your Tunnel Pass card

After purchasing, you will receive a collection invitation with a QR code. You can collect your Tunnel Pass card at a staffed ticket counter in Kandersteg, Goppenstein or Brig.

Manage your user account

Easily manage your Tunnel Pass through your personal user account. You can check your current balance, top up your credit, check the validity of your credit and bonus, view all transactions and journeys, order a replacement card or block your card at any time.

Top up your credit

You can top up again when your total balance falls below CHF 150.00. If you top up before the validity period expires, your existing credit takes on the validity period of the new top-up.

Total credit

Topped-up amount 10 yearse
Bonus 3 years

Using your credit

When loading, your topped-up credit is used first, followed by the bonus.
Unused bonus credit expires after 3 years. The credit you have topped up yourself remains available until the end of the 10-year validity period. Cash payouts or refunds of topped-up amounts and bonuses are not possible.

How is your credit used?

The current fare is automatically deducted from your Tunnel Pass credit each time you travel. As prices vary depending on the route and fare category, the amount deducted may differ from one journey to another.

You can check your remaining balance and all charges at any time in your user account under “Transactions”.

Tunnel Pass credit cannot be used for purchases in the BLS webshop.
