The points card for frequent travellers

The Tunnel Pass is coming – transfer your credit now

On 4 November 2026, BLS Car Transport Service at Lötschberg and Simplon will introduce a new access system. The new system will make check-in faster and more convenient. Fares and conditions of use will remain unchanged.

Your existing points card will no longer work with the new access system. You will therefore need a Tunnel Pass card. Simply enter your points card number and transfer code in the BLS webshop, then collect your new Tunnel Pass card at the loading station.

Key information at a glance

  • Until 3 November Secure your credit online and continue using your points card as usual until the changeover (top-ups remain possible).
  • From 4 November Your points card will no longer be valid and you will need the Tunnel Pass card. Your credit secured online will automatically be transferred to your Tunnel Pass and can be used immediately.
  • Important! Your credit will be retained, but a valid transfer code is required to transfer it to the Tunnel Pass. This code was sent to all points card holders by post or email in early October. If you have not received a transfer code by 15 October, please contact a staffed ticket counter, where you can obtain your code.
  • Tip Make the switch now to secure your credit and be ready for the changeover. Keep both your points card and Tunnel Pass card in your vehicle until 4 November. This way, you will always have the correct card with you.

Questions about switching to the Tunnel Pass

Find answers to the most important questions about switching from the points card to the Tunnel Pass. For further questions or assistance, visit our Helpcenter.

With the new access and sales system, the existing points card will be replaced by the Tunnel Pass. Instead of collecting points, you will top up credit and receive a bonus with every top-up.

As the existing points card is not technically compatible with the new system, you will need a new Tunnel Pass card. Your existing credit can be transferred during the changeover.

The changeover involves two steps:

Secure your credit online: Sign in to the BLS webshop using your SwissPass login and enter your points card number and personal transfer code.

Collect your Tunnel Pass card: After securing your credit, you will receive a collection invitation with a QR code. You can collect your new Tunnel Pass card at a staffed ticket counter in Kandersteg, Goppenstein or Brig.

Continue using your existing points card until 3 November 2026.

Secure your credit

The transfer code is personal and linked to your points card. You need it to assign the credit from your existing points card to your new Tunnel Pass user account.

After the system changeover, your secured credit will automatically be transferred to your user account.

Points card holders will be informed about the changeover by post or email in early October and will receive their personal transfer code.

If you have not received your transfer code by 15 October, please visit a staffed ticket counter in Kandersteg, Goppenstein or Brig on your next journey, or contact BLS Customer Service.

Your credit will not be lost. You can still switch to the Tunnel Pass after 3 November.

However, from 4 November 2026, your existing points card can no longer be used to access BLS Car Transport Service. Until you have switched to the Tunnel Pass, you will need to purchase a regular ticket for your journey.

We therefore recommend switching before your next journey. You can then collect your Tunnel Pass card at a staffed ticket counter in Kandersteg, Goppenstein or Brig.

To switch to the Tunnel Pass, you need a user account in the BLS webshop. You sign in using a SwissPass login.

The SwissPass login is used solely to sign in and identify yourself in the BLS webshop.

Yes. You can create a SwissPass login even if you do not have a SwissPass card for public transport.

Visit swisspass.ch to find out how to create a SwissPass login. A BLS Travel Centre can also help if you have any questions.

Yes. You can also create a SwissPass login if you live abroad. You will need a valid email address and your personal details.

Only one Tunnel Pass can be linked to each user account. If you want to convert multiple points cards into multiple Tunnel Passes, you need separate user accounts with different SwissPass logins.

Companies with multiple points cards can apply for a company account and manage several Tunnel Passes centrally.

The Tunnel Pass card is valid from 4 November 2026. Continue using your existing points card until 3 November.

Your secured credit will automatically be transferred to your user account from 4 November and can then be used with the Tunnel Pass.

After securing your credit, you will receive a collection invitation with a QR code.

You can collect your Tunnel Pass card before the system changeover at a staffed ticket counter in Kandersteg, Goppenstein or Brig.

Tip: Keep both your points card and new Tunnel Pass card in your vehicle until the system changeover on 4 November. This way, you will always have the correct card with you.

No. The SwissPass cannot be used as an access card or for payment.

You need the Tunnel Pass card to access BLS Car Transport Service. Hold it against the RFID reader at the self-service lane or present it at the ticket counter.

You must continue using your existing points card until 3 November 2026.

From 4 November 2026, only the Tunnel Pass card will work. You can then dispose of your old points card.

When you link your points card to your new Tunnel Pass user account using the transfer code, your credit is secured.

After the system changeover, it will automatically be credited to your user account. No further action is required.

Your secured credit will only be automatically transferred to your user account on 4 November 2026.

Until then, you can continue using and topping up your existing points card as usual.

If you paid a deposit for your points card, the CHF 15.00 amount will be credited to your user account once the changeover has been completed successfully. This amount will be shown separately.

Your paid credit is now valid for 10 years. The bonus remains valid for 3 years, as before. As a thank you, the existing validity period of your current credit, including the bonus, will be extended by an additional 6 months as a one-time benefit when you switch.

If the bonus is not used within this period, it expires. Your paid credit remains valid for up to 10 years and can continue to be used for journeys.

The switch to the Tunnel Pass must be completed separately for each points card.

If you want to manage multiple Tunnel Passes in a single user account, you need a company account. To do this, register your company in the BLS webshop using your Business Identification Number (UID). Once BLS has approved your application, you can convert your individual points cards to Tunnel Passes.
