RABe 528 – «MIKA»

The future has begun

The first MIKAs (modern, innovative, compact all-round train) of the «RegioExpress» (RE) type were put into operation in 2021. The 105-metre-long, single-decker train is equipped with comfortable seats, spacious multifunctional zones, large panoramic windows, window panes for improved mobile phone reception, power sockets at practically every seat and a bistro zone with snack and coffee vending machines.

A specific «MIKA» S-Bahn type was procured for S-Bahn operations. This is optimized for standing room and ensures faster passenger changes thanks to the increased number of entrances/doors.
