Lötschberg Base Tunnel

Masterpiece of railway engineering

Would you like to take a group on a guided tour of the Lötschberg Base Tunnel? We have the perfect offer for you. On a guided tour, you and your guests will learn all about Europe’s third-longest tunnel and gain an exclusive insight into the heart of this piece of BLS infrastructure.

Private group tours are possible at any time by prior arrangement.

Travel relaxed by train to Frutigen. From Frutigen railway station it is a short walk to the BLS Visitor Centre.

The tour begins at the BLS visitor centre in Frutigen. First, you’ll get an initial impression of the tunnel system and how it works with the help of a model. This includes a tour of the Mitholz technical centre, the 1:1 scale test section, and an exclusive look inside the rail tunnel, where trains whiz past right next to us at 200km/h.
