Willisau – charming at any time of year

Discover the beautiful bijou town of Willisau and its magnificent surroundings.

With its historic sights, the bijou town of Willisau is great for a leisurely stroll in the winter, too. Enjoy the special atmosphere of the historic centre with its seven-cornered fountains, the two town gates and the town hall dating from 1704 and built after the town’s fourth major fire. From the splendid baronial castle on the castle mound, you can enjoy beautiful views of the historic centre. Public guided tours (May to October)

The public guided tours of the town will take place whatever the weather.

Guests will need to be sure-footed to take part in the climb up the church tower. Reservations are recommended.

Individual guided tours

On request, the team from Willisau Tourismus will organise a tour of the town based on your specific requirements and will be glad to assist you with a wide range of inspiring suggestions.

Willisau, archaeological treasure trove

The impressive archaeological discoveries of parts of the town walls and the cellar of the Kirchherrenhaus, or patrons’ house, have been preserved in situ and are freely accessible. A large screen shows various short films on the history of Willisau. Open daily from 08.00 to 17.00 hours.
