Through the unique Gryden crater landscape
The circular hike starts at the Leiterli mountain station. The first section offers magnificent views of the protected "Haslerberg Moorland". On the northern side of the "Stübleni" area, the bizarre, crater-like "Gryden" rock landscape unfolds. Its subsoil consists mainly of gypsum rock, with some rauhwacke. These rocks were formed around 200 million years ago.
The almost white gypsum rock is soft and therefore prone to erosion. Rainwater dissolves the gypsum, creating funnel-shaped depressions, known as solution dolines, on the surface over time. They give the landscape its unique character.
The circular mountain trail starts and ends at the Leiterli mountain station. The Leiterli is easily reached by the Betelberg cable car.

The hiking ticket is valid from 4 June to 25 October 2026 and is available in the BLS webshop or at any BLS Travel Centre.

Autumn 2026
The Betelberg gondola lift will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 31 October 2026 until the start of the winter season in the main Adelboden-Lenk area from 09.30 to 16.00 hours.

The Bergrestaurant Leiterli will be rebuilt in summer 2026. The result will be a modern, light-filled building with an inviting atmosphere and spectacular mountain views. It will open just in time for the start of the 2026/2027 winter season.
