Christmas market and Advent village in Olten

From 28 November to 20 December 2026, the town center of Olten transforms under festive Christmas lights into a charming Advent village, combining the Christmas market and Advent magic.
Over 70 lovingly decorated chalets offer a diverse pre-Christmas selection – with exhibitors changing daily and weekly, showcasing handmade goods and seasonal treats. A central event square invites you to enjoy an entertaining supporting program.

Travel comfortably with BLS to Olten. The town center is about a 10-minute walk from the train station.

A special experience is Flying Santa, who flies high above Kirchgasse into the Advent village every day, amazing young and old alike. Culinary delights are provided by the two cozy chalets, the festive mulled wine pyramid, and various food stands.

There’s plenty for kids to enjoy, too: a 107-meter-long sledding run, an artificial ice rink, candle-making, a Christmas bakery, the lovingly decorated Santa’s cottage, a petting zoo, and a carousel. The Advent Village Train takes guests of all ages on a ride through the festively decorated surroundings. A nursing and diaper-changing room is available for families with the youngest guests.

From the enchanting Wish Forest to the cozy Santa Bar and the Advent Village Lounge, the Advent Village offers a diverse program of Christmas experiences for the whole family.
