A jewel in the heart of the bilingual watchmaking city

The old town of Biel is lively and full of variety. An inviting place to take a stroll with numerous charming, little alleyways, beatiful fountains and venerable guild houses. You'll find plenty to surprise you with medieval buildings and squares as well as small shops selling regional products. Enjoy spending time in the many small cafés an restaurants you'll regularly come across in the old town. Several times a week, there is a lively fruit and vegetable market on Burgplatz; a place when many locals meet. This summer, you can also explore the area in a playful way on Biel's first urban golf course. By any measure, Biel is worth a visit - whether you come for its architecture, culture, history or gastronomy.
