The sunrise arrangement allows you to enjoy an exceptional and exclusive overnight stay on the Niesen. The arrangement from 201.00 Swiss francs includes the train journey, dinner and brunch at the Berghaus Niesen Kulm. Enjoy the evening and morning atmosphere high above Lake Thun with a magnificent 360° panorama or a mystical fog and cloud atmosphere.

Travel comfortably by train to the valley station of the Niesenbahn cable car and continue with the historic funicular to the summit.

Experience conviviality and cosiness, gastronomic variety and the unique panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and lakes at the Berghaus Niesen Kulm. Ten cozy and simple double rooms with Hüsler Nest beds and WC/shower on the floor and one double room with WC/shower in the room can be booked in the Berghaus.

The sunrise arrangement can be booked during the season from 27 April to 10 November 2024 (extension option in good weather). You can find the exact availability directly in the online store. As the number of rooms is limited, early booking is strongly recommended.

Notes

Walking on Mt. Niesen

Combine your excursion on Mt. Niesen with a walk. Walking tip: Take the Niesenbahn funicular railway to the Schwandegg middle station and from there walk for approx. 2.5 hours to the Niesen summit.

Niesen beer

We recommend the Niesen beer as a memento or as a gift for beer lovers. This beer was created in collaboration with the local “3714 Frutigbier” brewery. This nostalgia-themed red ale is exclusively available on Mt. Niesen.

Children's playground

The Niesendörfli is the ideal playground for children.

Niesen Fox story book for children

The tale of the Niesen Fox who lights the Niesen beacon is popular with children. The book is available at the kiosk (Berghaus and valley station).

The Niesen shadow

In autumn, Mt. Niesen casts its pyramid-shaped shadow over Lake Thun. This spectacular event can be observed every afternoon from October onwards: a popular and special photo opportunity.

Hang our Niesen nostalgia poster (available at the Berghaus and valley station kiosks) on your wall at home to remind you of your Niesen adventure after your stay.

How to get there

Travel in comfort by train to Mülenen. From Mülenen Railway Station, it is only 200 m on foot to the valley station of the Niesenbahn funicular railway. The Niesenbahn will then carry you up Mt. Niesen in 30 minutes.
