Hike from Wispile to Lake Lauenen
Hike along the ridge of the Wispile mountain and enjoy the view of the famous Lake Lauenen
The cable car will bring you comfortably to the Berghaus Wispile (1,907 m above sea level), where the walk begins. Simply follow the mountain ridge and enjoy the panoramic view over the Saanenland region. At Chrinetritt, the path descends steeply to the Chrine Pass (1,659 m). Once there, you immediately climb another 100 metres. This will bring you to the path towards Lake Lauenen (1,381 m). Following the descending mountain path, you reach the Lake Lauenen nature reserve.

Fondue from the backpack
About 40 minutes along the hiking trail, you reach the massive Fondue Caquelon site, which forms part of the Fondueland Gstaad. You can pick up fondue backpacks from the Berghaus Wispile during the hours of operation of the cable car. These can be returned to the mountain restaurant or the valley station (until 16.30 hours) and must be pre-ordered on the previous day.
Alp vordere Wispile
The trail leads you to the Alp vordere Wispile – the Hefti family’s Alpine store. From late June to mid-August, you can treat yourself to a refreshing drink or a fine piece of cheese.
