Landscape Museum (Museo del Paesaggio) – art exhibition
Green harmonies. Landscapes from the Scapigliatura to the 20th century. Artworks of the Fondazione Cariplo and the Landscape Museum in Verbania.
The exhibition is structured into three areas: “Scapigliatura, Divisionism, Naturalism”, “Artists of the Italian Novecento Group” and “Painting after the Novecento Movement”. There are 50 works on display, including masterpieces from the late 19th and first half of the 20th centuries. The exhibited works are testimony to the variety in artistic depiction of the landscape. The paintings range from the egocentric, romantically influenced style of the late 19th century, through to volumetric images in which the landscape appears like an architectural structure.
