Engstligenalp Chäligang via ferrata
A physical challenge, unique rock formations and sweeping panoramic views await you on the Chäligang via ferrata.
The starting point for the climb is the Bergbahnen Engstligenalp AG valley station. After a gentle 20-minute hike, the actual climb on the Alpine via ferrata really begins. Time to make your way along the Chäligang, secured to the rope, towards the skies. The route is simple, the view down onto the Engstligtal valley and the village of Adelboden below filled with colourful sights.

Via ferrata in the Alps
Individual passages require great concentration from the climber, as he is repeatedly distracted by the constant companion, the Engstligen Falls. A vantage point directly above the waterfall offers the possibility to experience nature with all senses.
Discover protected nature
After the more difficult passages in the rock, the trail winds along a wide rocky ledge up to the Edelweiss-Hubel. The name alone promises a natural spectacle. Hundreds of protected flowers thrive here alongside other rare plants. Botany becomes an experience in nature. Here you meet the official mountain path again and the secured trail ends.
Information on the route
A lookout point directly above the Engstligen Falls offers an opportunity to experience nature with all your senses. At the Edelweiss-Hubel, the official mountain trail resumes and the secured via ferrata ends. The trail crosses the Alpine meadows with their splendour of flowers and leads up to the Engstligenalp mountain station.
Elevation difference: climb 560 m (via ferrata 300 m)
Level of difficulty: K2 (1 = easy, 5 =difficult)
Climbing gear can be hired at the valley station of the Engstligenalp aerial cableway.
