Notes

It is essential to enter using the lower access point in order to explore the gorge from bottom to top – this is safer and more impressive. Do not hike through the Choleren gorge in case of heavy rainfall.

The excursion to the Choleren Gorge can be perfectly combined with a visit to the Pochtenkessel, a deep rocky funnel where the waters of Engstligen and Otterebach meet. Since 2005, the Jungbrunnen (“Fountain of Youth”) has been open for swimming.
