BLS AG, Switzerland's second-largest railway company, operates and maintains a fleet of passenger trains and BLS Cargo AG, as well as over 150 infrastructure vehicles. These include special vehicles used for construction work and various types of self-propelled or towed freight cars.
The railway production department has the necessary equipment, tools, and technical expertise at its infrastructure vehicle competence center to carry out all work relevant to the maintenance and repair of infrastructure vehicles and freight cars.

- Mobile wheel load measurement
- Underfloor lathe (UFD) in Spiez and Oberburg
Our services
- Revisions, repairs, refurbishments, conversions, and refits of infrastructure vehicles, freight cars, and their components, such as special vehicles, self-propelled or towed freight cars, and rail cranes
- Welding and straightening work in accordance with EN 15085 / EN ISO 3834-2, from simple repair welding to complex work involving intervention in vehicle structures and repairs to crane components made of high-strength fine-grained structural steel
- Carrying out and preparing damage analyses and repair/conversion concepts
- Mobile work assignments, even under difficult conditions
- Brake testing, including brake force measurement for block brakes and disc brakes
- Compressed air tank testing in accordance with EN 286-3 /-4
- Revisions G1.0 Unscheduled repairs, G2.0 Deadline according to ECM specifications, G3.0 Unscheduled mobile repairs, G4.0, G4.2 / G4.3 / G4.8
- Bogie overhaul D2 and D3
- Intrinsic stress measurement on wheel sets in installed condition
- Reprofiling of solid wheels or new bandaging
- Component reconditioning: valves, brake linkage adjusters, springs, buffers, wheel sets, and bogies
