125 years of railway history – Anniversary special journey with the “Blauer Pfeil”
Saturday, 6 June and Sunday, 7 June 2026
On 1 July 1901, the Bern–Neuchâtel Railway began operations, connecting Bern with Neuchâtel via Gümmenen, Kerzers and Ins. Also from 1901 onwards, the Gürbetal Railway was gradually opened from Bern via Belp to Thun. In 1997, the two traditional railways merged to form today’s BLS.
To mark the 125th anniversary, the BLS Foundation invites you to two special journeys: Experience an elegant trip with the legendary Blauer Pfeil on historic routes during the weekend of 6 and 7 June 2026 – and let yourself be transported back to the era of railway pioneers.
