Avenches Christmas Market

From 1 to 21 December 2025, the Christmas village in Avenches will delight you with its festive atmosphere, twinkling lights and an enchanting selection of regional delicacies and handicrafts.

Chalets, festively illuminated fir trees, a curling rink and a variety of attractions await you in a magical setting. There are performances, children's workshops and a gourmet market for young and old, making the event a highlight.

Travel comfortably by train to Avenches. The Christmas village is about a 10-minute walk from the station.

Advent window

During Advent, the residents and business people of Avenches transform their windows and shop windows into atmospheric decorations that create a magical holiday atmosphere. Under the motto “Christmas in the Chalet!” You are cordially invited to stroll through the charming streets and alleys of Avenches from 1 to 21 December.

Christmas workshops for children

The ARPEJE (Association régionale pour l'enfance et la jeunesse) invites children to creative Christmas workshops, which take place every afternoon from Wednesday to Sunday in December (except 5 December).

Gourmet market

On Wednesday, 10 December 2025 (17.00–21.00 hours), the Restaurant des Bains invites you to a small Christmas and gourmet market where you can discover and enjoy regional delicacies in a cozy atmosphere.

Artisanal and Epicurean Christmas market

On the last Sunday of Advent, 21 December 2025 (10.00–15.00 hours), the magical craft and culinary Christmas market of Avenches awaits you. In the heart of the Christmas Village, on the Place de l'Église and in front of the Hôtel-de-Ville, craftsmen and regional producers present their works. From jewelry and decorations to oysters and delicacies, you'll find unique gifts and festive treats.
