The Christmas village in Avenches creates a festive Advent atmosphere in December with seasonal lights, decorated chalets and charmingly adorned streets. On 19 December 2026, the Christmas market adds arts and crafts, regional products and seasonal specialities to the programme.

On Place de l'Église and in front of the Hôtel-de-Ville, craftspeople and regional producers present jewellery, decorations, delicacies and other gift ideas. Various activities add further variety and make the visit a memorable Advent experience.
Travel comfortably by train to Avenches. The Christmas village is about a 10-minute walk from the station.
Advent windows
During Advent, residents and shopkeepers in Avenches transform their windows and shopfronts into atmospheric decorations that create a magical festive mood. Under the motto “Christmas in the Chalet!”, you are warmly invited to stroll through the charming streets and lanes of Avenches.
Christmas workshops for children
ARPEJE (Association régionale pour l’enfance et la jeunesse, Regional Association for Children and Young People) organises Christmas workshops for children every afternoon from Wednesday to Saturday in December, except on 4 December.
