Culinary outing to the Lötschberg Tunnel’s southern approach
Sample the specialities of the canton of Valais.
Enjoy a comfortable journey on the Lötschberger train to Ausserberg before sipping a fine aperitif with local cheese and Valais rye bread in the Restaurant Bahnhof Ausserberg. After a fine “cholera” – a delicious vegetarian speciality – and fresh salad, you can take a stroll towards the Biohof Fischerbiel, an organic farm. (Approx. 25 mins. on foot.) At the little farm shop, you can always obtain fresh, homemade and regional farm products, such as Valais-style dried meat, jams, homemade sausage and ointments. Needless to say, personal service from the friendly couple who own the farm is included!

Tip: the old part of Ausserberg village with its old stores and stables is also well worth seeing.
Why not also take the opportunity to visit the “Suonen Bräu” brewery in Ausserberg, where you can enjoy a freshly brewed beer. Reservation required.
