Skiing at Oeschinen Lake
Both beginners and “rusty” winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy skiing and snowboarding in the Oeschinen Lake area, which is small, pleasant and not at all complex.
“Small but lovely” – that's the motto for skiing and snowboarding in the Oeschinen Lake area above Kandersteg: A gondola cableway, two ski lifts, four children's lifts and 12 kilometres of perfectly prepared, snow-covered pistes await you. Those looking for a bit of peace and quiet can take the “Unesco Ice Walk” on the frozen Oeschinen Lake.

«Oeschiland children’s paradise»
The «Oeschiland children’s paradise» features several children's lifts, a roundabout, a beginner's slope, an advanced piste and much more, which makes it perfect for families and beginners especially. While parents ski the slopes, kids can learn how to ski at one of two ski schools. Childcare services (including food and drink) can be booked individually (whole day or half day). The descent to Kandersteg is always snow covered regardless of conditions.
The local bus in Kandersteg runs once an hour from the train station to the gondola cableway valley station. This route can also be walked (25 minutes).
Food & drink
Two restaurants are located in the ski area: the Bergstübli near the mountain station and the Berghotel Oeschinensee, which is located right by the lake. There’s also a small picnic area near the mountain station.
