Sanierung Bahnhof Interlaken West
Die BLS saniert das Bahnhofsgebäude Interlaken West aus dem Jahr 1920 vollumfänglich und investiert dafür rund 9 Millionen Franken. Ein belebter und attraktiver Bahnhof soll entstehen.
Das Bahnhofsgebäude in Interlaken West entspricht nicht mehr den heutigen Anforderungen und muss deshalb von A bis Z saniert werden. Zu seinem 100. Geburtstag wird es wieder in neuem Glanz erstrahlen. Die Arbeiten beinhalten eine komplette Umgestaltung der Innenräume, um den Geschäften eine optimale Nutzfläche bieten zu können. Die Ölheizung wird durch eine moderne Luft-Wasser-Wärmepumpe ersetzt. Zudem erneuert die BLS Dach, Fenster, technische Leitungen und baut das Gebäude behindertengerecht und erdbebensicher aus. Das Äussere des denkmalgeschützten Bauwerkes verändert sich nicht, wird aber wo nötig instand gestellt.

Das BLS Reisezentrum, der Avec-Shop, das Blumengeschäft Ryffel und die SAH-Velostation bieten während der Bauzeit ihre Dienstleistungen in Provisorien an. Die Velo-Abstellplätze sowie Auto-Parkplätze befinden sich ebenfalls an einem anderen Ort im Umfeld des Bahnhofes. Die Wege sind signalisiert. Die Bahnhof Apotheke bleibt während der Bauzeit geöffnet. Der Bahnverkehr wird durch die Bauarbeiten nicht tangiert.
After a good year or more of building work, on 11 January BLS officially opened its new boatyard facility on the Lachenkanal. Thanks to this newly constructed facility, which was largely financed by the canton of Bern, the future of boat operations on Lake Thun has been guaranteed. The old boatyard hall, which was 110 years old, was no longer technically fit for purpose and needed to be replaced for safety reasons. With the newly built hall, BLS Navigation services have been guaranteed. The company will now be able to maintain its Lake Thun fleet of vessels in the hall’s dry dock facility in a legally compliant and efficient manner.
It is important to BLS that everyone can use public transport independently and spontaneously. In particular, this includes people with disabilities being able to board and alight from trains independently and access all information at the train station and when on board trains. To make this possible, BLS is adapting its train stations and all trains and buses to meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (BehiG). The Disability Discrimination Act brings improvements that benefit all passengers. For example, older people or travellers with a lot of luggage can also get around better on public transport.
