Culinary winter treat in Marbach

An experience for fitness-minded gourmands

Stroll through the magical winter scenery from Marbach to Lourdes Grotto, which was built in 1917 as an imitation of the original. After a stop at the tranquil, idyllic grotto, an easy walk along the Steiglenbach brook takes you to the Marbach Mountain Cheese Dairy, where a delicious and nourishing “Authentic Entlebuch” fondue using the dairy’s own cheese awaits you in the visitors’ gallery. You can then enjoy a gentle stroll along the Schonbach brook to the Hotel Sporting, where the tour is rounded off in style with a “sweet winter greeting” – a surprise dessert.

Route for fitness enthusiasts

The tour can be perfectly combined with an additional snowshoe tour. After lunch, walk to the Marbachegg valley station, where you can hire snowshoes. On the signposted circular snowshoe trail, you can explore the area surrounding Marbach. Once you have returned the snowshoes at the valley station, the “sweet winter greeting” at Hotel Sporting awaits you as the conclusion of the tour.
