Walking at one of the Alps’ most beautiful valley heads

Metschstand – superlative panoramic views await every visitor.

Whether it’s a leisurely walk or an ambitious mountain tour, the Metschstand is the ideal starting point for walks in all directions. The modern 10-person Lenk–Metsch–Metschstand gondola lift takes guests up to 2,100 metres above sea level. The Metschstand is surrounded by a unique panorama offering views of what is probably the most beautiful valley head in the Alps.

The train takes you from Bern every hour directly to Zweisimmen, where you change to the regional train to Lenk in the Simmental. And the cable car Stand-Xpress Metsch takes you comfortably to the mountain station Metschstand.

Routes

Time for some mountain air

Past colourful meadows and crystal-clear mountain lakes – the most beautiful walking routes offer great variety and enjoyment. The tour planner provided by Lenk-Simmental Tourism helps you plan the perfect walk. For inspiration, here are our five top walks in the Metsch an der Lenk Region.

Metschstand circular trail

The circular trail starting and ending at the mountain station offers spectacular panoramic views in all directions, as well as the opportunity to relax and enjoy the Caribbean atmosphere of the Brenggen reservoir along the way. Taking around 80 minutes to complete, this circular walk can be classed as easy – despite the elevation difference – and above all varied.

If you want to finish off with some action, you can jet down the mountain on three wheels with a Mountain Cart to the Metsch middle station.
