Travel in comfort. Reserve yourself a seat.
To make your train journey in Switzerland and Europe as pleasant as possible, you can reserve your seat on certain trains before you start your journey.
In some countries and on tourist trains, reservations are often mandatory and are automatically included in the ticket price.
On many Swiss trains, it is possible to make a seat reservation. You can find out exactly which ones when you view your chosen connection in the online timetable. Depending on the connection, zone-specific seats (e.g. family section, business zone) can also be reserved. The reservation is always linked to the selected connection and can no longer be changed after booking.
You can reserve seats on Swiss trains in your BLS Travel Centre, through the SBB ticket shop, or via the SBB mobile app. Reservations cost CHF 5.00 per seat.
Reserve seats on the GoldenPass Express conveniently online. For seat reservations on tourist trains operated by our partners, such as the Glacier Express, Bernina Express or Treno Gottardo, please contact our travel advisors at your BLS Travel Centre or visit the websites of the relevant railway companies.
Groups of ten people or more
For groups of ten people or more, reservations are mandatory. Where possible, a block of seats will be reserved; this is included in the fare for the group trip. Fill in the practical online form at least two working days before starting your journey and simply leave the rest to us.
For train trips in Europe, different prices and rules apply for seat reservations depending on the country. In some countries, reservations are often mandatory and are automatically included in the ticket price.
Talk to our travel advisors at your BLS Travel Centre. They will be happy to help you plan your trip in Europe.
