Night work on the BLS rail network

To ensure that trains can run safely and punctually, BLS maintains and renews its rail network on an ongoing basis.

Some maintenance work can only be carried out when the track is closed due to the proximity to moving trains or overhead lines. To ensure that trains can travel freely during the day, we generally carry out this work at night. This also increases the safety of our employees who are responsible for maintaining the railway network.
