Lyss Carnival

30 January to 1 February 2026

The 40th Lyss Carnival will take place from 30 January to 1 February 2026, under the motto “Nid liire sondern fiire!” (Don't read, celebrate!). With rousing Guggen music, pointed satirical songs, and creative masks, Lyss will once again become the carnival center of the Seeland region. Reason enough to celebrate!

Travel comfortably to Lyss by train.

19.46 hours: Fänchere-Chlapf and torchlight procession (market square)
20.01 hours: Schlüssumärit with the Lysser Marching Band (market square)
20.31 hours: Carnival party with Guggen and Schnitzelbänken as well as BRAVO Hits party with DJs Caldron and Jamis Graig (market square)

Saturday, 31 January 2026

14.01 hours: Grand children's parade (Old Reformed Church – market square)
14.31 hours: Children's carnival with costume contest (Weisses Kreuz)
from 14.31 hours: Street and pub carnival (continuous)
20.31 hours: Mask parade, Guggen and Schnitzelbänke (market square)

11.01 hours: Matinée (market square)
14.31 hours: Grand parade with awards ceremony (village center)
15.31 hours: Burning of the Näbugeischt (old cattle market)
16.16 hours: Usplampete with the Lyss marching band (market square)
