In the heart of Switzerland’s vegetable garden, a culinary treasure hunt awaits: The Seeland FoodTrail takes you from Lyss to Biel through medieval towns, tranquil countryside, and five gourmet stops where regional specialties meet tricky puzzles. Along the way, you’ll discover the many facets of the Seeland region – its commerce, its traditions, and its unique way of life. On foot and by train, completely car-free and completely carefree: train transfers between the stops are included in the price.

The most beautiful places in the region around Lake Biel, Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Murten can be discovered in a relaxed way by train and bus. FoodTrail Seeland takes you on a journey through the most diverse worlds in this fascinating region.

The trail is perfect for couples, families, friends, clubs and companies. The puzzles are solved in teams consisting of a maximum of 6 people. These set out at 15-minute intervals.

The food trail can be booked at the following times:
- Tuesday–Friday: Start time 09.30–12.30 hours
- Saturday: Start time 08.45–10.00 hours
A team (max. 6 people) can start every 15 minutes. The start time must be booked online in advance.

- Ascension Day: 14.05.2026
- National Day: 01.08.2026
- Assumption Day: 15.08.2026
- Winter break; 08.12.2026 to 05.01.2027

The start time must be reserved in advance online and paid for by credit card or Twint. Alternatively, reservations can be made at the BLS Travel Centre in Lyss (payment directly on site).

How to get there
Travel in comfort by train to Lyss. The food trail starts right by the train station. The return journey is from Biel.
IMPORTANT: The journey to Lyss is made individually and is not included in the price. However, you do not need a ticket for the train journeys during the food trail – a zone day pass is included in the price.

How long does the food trail take and how long is the route?
The food trail lasts approximately 6 to 7 hours in total. The route is 8.5 kilometers long, with a pure walking time of about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Where does the food trail start and end?
The starting point is directly at Lyss train station. The food trail ends in such a way that the return journey takes place from Biel.
What is included in the price?
The price includes:
5 culinary stations with food and drinks
Puzzle materials (you will receive the starting documents by email after booking)
Train transfers during the food trail (zone day pass)
Can I just drop by?
No, you must reserve a start time in advance, as the materials will be sent via email.
