Renewal of our ticket machines
The easy way to your ticket
Our ticket machines will be replaced from December 2025 to mid-2026. In favour of more cost-effective operation, payment at the machines will be cashless in future. In addition to the usual payment options, you can also use an anonymous prepaid card. The prepaid payment card is a sensible solution for children, people without a smartphone and travellers who wish to travel anonymously.
In the cantons of Lucerne and Neuchâtel, payment can still be made with coins at BLS ticket machines on behalf of the cantons.

* From these stations, you can buy your ticket (without surcharge) directly on the train, provided you proactively report to the attendant on the platform/boarding. Payment can be made in cash (CHF or Euro notes) and with standard payment cards or by Reka Rail or Reka-Check. If you regularly travel on the same route, we would recommend that you purchase a multiple-journey ticket.
What should you do if you cannot buy a ticket on board the train?
In such cases, we would request that you purchase your ticket after your journey at the station where you have got off the train.
