Interruption to rail and car transport between Kandersteg and Brig or Goppenstein
On the Frutigen–Brig line, rail traffic between Kandersteg and Brig is expected to be suspended until Saturday. Car transport between Kandersteg and Goppenstein is expected to be suspended until Wednesday 08.00.
Rail traffic is suspended between Kandersteg and Brig. The RegioExpress trains from Spiez in the direction of Lötschberg now only run as far as Kandersteg and turn round there. This restriction is expected to apply until Saturday, 21 February 2026.
The Lötschental regional security service is also closing the road between Goppenstein and Gampel-Steg. BLS is therefore also cancelling the car transport service between Goppenstein and Kandersteg. This closure is expected to last until Wednesday 08.00.
