Murten Carnival
6 to 9 March 2026
The Murten Carnival takes place every year on the first weekend in March. Deeply rooted in the local population, the Murten Carnival has developed into an important cultural, social, and economic event for the entire Lake Murten region and enjoys great recognition in Switzerland far beyond the region.
Over 400 active carnival participants of all ages and social backgrounds, as well as numerous volunteers, now form a strong community. Camaraderie, creative passion, and commitment – whether in new musical arrangements, the construction of floats, or the writing of satirical songs – are key factors in the success of Murten Carnival.
