BDt – control car with seats
The BDt went into operation in 1950 at the now defunct Bernese Alpine Railway Company Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon (BLS) and was refurbished and modernised in 1980 and 1999.
In order to allow the Foundation's EWI carriages to also run as shuttle trains, the driving trailer was parked at the Foundation in 2014, but remained in BLS's possession. With its built-in luggage compartment, this car could be used in a variety of ways. Today, the BDt is no longer roadworthy; its future is currently open.
