The fastest route into the Valais by car

No matter whether you are about to enjoy the beauty of summer or the pleasures of skiing: car transport is the shortest and fastest way from the Bernese Oberland to the Valais and vice versa.

From Kandersteg and Goppenstein, the car transport train will take you to the other side of the Lötschberg in only 15 minutes.

Incidentally: there is a small shop and public conveniences at both car transport stations. And in the Lötschberg tunnel, you have mobile phone and radio reception (DRS Radio 1: 88.2 MHz).

Timetable for cars of up to 3.5t in weight

The journey takes 15 minutes. At peak times, adherence to the timetable cannot be guaranteed

Mondays to Thursdays:

Dep. Kandersteg:
5.50–21.50 hours every 30 minutes, 22.50 and 23.50 hours

Dep. Goppenstein:
5.50–22.20 hours every 30 minutes, 23.20 hours

Fridays to Sundays, and public holidays:

Dep. Kandersteg:
5.50–22.50 hours every 30 minutes, 23.50 hours

Dep. Goppenstein:
5.50–23.20 hours every 30 minutes

Extra trains in both directions:

Monday to Thursday (14.6.–21.10.2010):
7.05–19.35 hours approx. every 20 minutes

Fridays, Sundays and public holidays:
8.05–21.20 hours approx. every 15 minutes

Saturdays:
7.05–19.35 hours approx. every 15 minutes
