The biggest train in the BLS fleet is getting some even bigger siblings

The MUTZ (German acronym for Modern, Universal Multiple Unit Train), which has been reliably operating on the lines of the Bern S-Bahn since 2012, is about to have company: BLS long-distance traffic Ltd has ordered eight train units, five of which are in an extended, six-part version. Regardless of their length or their owner, the MUTZ vehicles offer plenty of space and comfort in the seating areas, as well as comfortable standing areas. MUTZ trains are equipped with air conditioning and floor and wall heating systems. They also boast modern visual and acoustic passenger information systems, video surveillance systems, two toilets (one of which is wheelchair-accessible) and wheelchair spaces in both first and second-class carriages.
